Uses of Cookies

What Are Cookies? What is a Cookie?

Cookies are small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next.

why do we use cookies?

We use so-called session cookies to optimize our online offer. One session cookie is a small text file that is sent by the respective servers when you visit a website and cached on your hard drive. This file as such contains a so-called session ID, with which different requests of your browserscan be assigned to a shared session. This allows to recognize your computer when returning to our website. These cookies are deleted after you close your browser. They are used, for example, to enable you to use the shopping basket function across several pages. We also use persistent cookies (also small text files, which are stored on your terminal), which remain on your terminal and enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit. These cookies are stored on your hard disk and are deleted automatically after the specified time. Their life span is 1 month to 10 years. This is how we can offer you our services more user-friendly, more effective and safer and, for example, especially for displaying information that matches your interests on the page.

Our legitimate interest in the use of cookies pursuant to Art. 6 Par. 1 S. 1 f) GDPR is to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. The following data and information are stored in the cookies

  • Log-in information
  • Language settings
  • Entered search terms
  • Information about the number of visits to our website as well as the use of individual pages.

When the cookie is activated, an identification number is assigned to it and an assignment of your personal data to this identification number will not be stored. Your name, IP address or similar data that may be used to assign the cookies to you are not placed in the cookie. Based on the cookie technology, we only receive pseudonymised information, for example which pages of our shop were visited, which products were viewed, etc. You can set your browser in such a way that by setting cookies in advance you can decide on a case-by-case basis whether or not you wish to accept cookies in certain cases or in general, or that cookies are completely prevented. This may limit the functionality of the website.
